There is also a significant condition: it is desirable to already read Hebrew at least at a basic level. But after the first months of study, this can be a small bridge between ‘I know the rules’ and ordinary Israeli speech, where the interlocutor is not obliged to speak at the speed of a teacher.

The approach is controversial not in a bad sense, but literally: it suits some people, while others not at all. And this course should definitely not be perceived as another option for an absolute beginner. It is designed for preparation for AWS professional certification and assumes that the person already knows why they need cloud architecture and what networks, security, resilience, and infrastructure mean.
The certificate itself does not guarantee a place in an Israeli tech company, and the course certainly does not guarantee it. What makes sense specifically in Israel
Ulpan is a system for learning Hebrew, primarily for new immigrants. An online course does not have to compete with it. It can fill in what a person missed, provide a different way of explaining grammar, or add practice in the evening when returning to a regular study group is no longer possible.
With English, the situation is different. In everyday life, you can live without it, but in academia, international companies, and a significant part of high-tech, it quickly becomes a working tool. At the same time, a course for a Hebrew-speaking beginner and professional English for an already working specialist are two completely different tasks, and you need to choose not by the word English in the title.
With Python, AWS, and AI, it’s even easier to make a mistake. An online platform easily creates the feeling that it is enough to finish another twenty hours of video and the job market is waiting. It is not. A course can provide a foundation, structure, practice, or help prepare for certification, but the employer further needs real skills, projects, experience, and the ability to solve problems without the teacher’s prompt.
How to choose a course so it doesn’t end up in the ‘someday’ folder
First, don’t look at the discount. Online platforms’ prices and promotions change constantly, and a big red number itself says nothing about the content. It is much more useful to check the date of the last update, the teaching language, the requirements for the starting level, the course duration, and the program of the first sections.
For language, it makes sense to watch a few free fragments and hear the teacher. If after ten minutes the voice, pace, or method irritates you, the next sixty lectures are unlikely to improve the situation. For technical disciplines, look even more strictly at the update date: Python changes more slowly than AI services, and an instruction for a specific ChatGPT interface from two years ago may require checking almost every practical step.
And one more simple principle: do not buy ten courses at once. If the problem is Hebrew now, start with Hebrew. If you are struggling with Excel at work — deal with Excel. Online learning is convenient precisely because it does not require turning the improvement of one skill into a new project for life.
